The Fox Nest Early Learning Center is located in Keltinmäki, Jyväskylä, close to nature and the Comets outdoor sports park. There are many forest trails nearby that the children can explore. Nature is one of our daycare’s most important and extensive learning environments. This is why we make daily excursions to our local forests with the children to learn and explore the wonders of nature. The newly renovated Comets outdoor sports park offers many possibilities for sporting activities during all seasons of the year.

”LEARNING IN NATURE”
Our daycare offers early childhood education and care in both English and Finnish for children aged 1 to 6 years old. The children do not need to have prior English language skill. We take into account their individual language development and linguistic strengths to provide quality care and to ensure that they have the best environment to learn in. Our staff are trained and qualified early childhood education professionals.
We provide a safe environment where the child’s own interests and needs are taken into account when planning activities. Our daycare center is built on respect for nature and equality. Our values include respect for the child as an individual, a sense of security and equality for all, a child-centered curriculum, co-operation with families, and nurturing early childhood development. Above all, our goal is to ensure that the children’s experience of the daycare day is a good one.
Nature experiences are important to children. Studies show that in nature, children’s games are more creative, emotions are more positive and emphatic skills build up faster. The time spent in nature, especially in the woods, will reduce stress levels and help focus. It is recommended that the forest should be a maximum 300m from the daycare and we have it right behind the fence!
